Dallas Airmotive has received authorization from Honeywell Aerospace to supply turbofan engine and APU support services for the Asia-Pacific region. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will provide major periodic inspection (MPI) services on TFE731 engines and line authorizations on CFE738 and HTF7000 engines and APUs (36 series, RE100, RE220).

The mission-control-style command center uses satellite technology to fuse resources in real time by coordinating and tracking the location of field service technicians, rental engines, mobile response vehicles and tooling worldwide.
Gulfstream has appointed two new production vice presidents. Greg Collett, previously director of new product development and manufacturing operations, has been promoted to v-p of initial phase operations, while Austin Shontz, most recently v-p of Savannah operations and final phase engineering, was named v-p of final phase operations.
Signature Flight Support, the worldwide FBO chain, has opened its first Canadian FBO, at Montreal Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The announcement results from a licensing agreement with Starlink Aviation, which is rebranding its existing FBO at Trudeau to operate under the Signature Flight Support name.
Christmas day last year, a flight crew boarded their jet in Las Vegas, only to find its APU dead with no hope of restarting it. Faced with being grounded and a passenger needing to leave, the crew called in BBA Aviation's engine repair crew.
The response was fast and saw the passenger to his destination with minimal delay, but it could have been faster.
BBA Aviation’s Aftermarket Services and Systems and Flight Support divisions have weathered the recession with a modest 7-percent drop in revenue for 2009. The downturn began as far back as the first quarter of 2008, according to BBA CEO Simon Pryce. “That’s continued through 2009 and really troughed in March of ,” he said.
