The U.S. National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has honored Flexjet’s maintenance organization with a third consecutive Five Star Award, the association’s highest recognition offered for aviation maintenance technician training. To secure this standing, a company must have at least 90 percent of its AMTs participate in a qualified training program and complete a minimum of 12 hours of education per year. Flexjet achieved 100-percent participation from its maintenance technicians.

The submission deadline for maintenance organizations to participate in the National Air Transportation Association’s new Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Employer Award program is January 30.

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has developed a new maintenance honor open to any full-time aircraft and/or components maintenance or repair business or a Part 91, 121, 125, 127, 129, 133, 135, 137, 141, 145 or 147 entity that conducts aviation maintenance.

The FAA’s new online aviation maintenance technician (AMT) awards program should be available shortly on the FAA Safety Team Web site. The revised program makes it much easier for technicians to participate in the program, which mirrors many of the processes used for the FAA’s Wings safety program for pilots.

The FAA has awarded Dassault Aircraft Services Wilmington the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Certificate of Excellence. It is the highest of five awards an organization can receive for its dedication to maintenance training.

The FAA presented Elliott Aviation’s Moline, Ill., and Omaha, Neb. service facilities with the Diamond Award of Excellence for aviation maintenance training for the fifth consecutive year. The honor, which is part of the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) awards program and is the highest achievement of its kind, recognizes technicians and maintenance facilities for excellence in maintenance training.

CAE SimuFlite has inked a deal with Dassault Falcon Jet to develop and deliver a technical training curriculum for maintenance technicians, beginning the second half of this year. Training will be available for the Falcon 50/50EX, 900/900EX and 2000/2000EX. Next year the program will extend to earlier Falcons.
