Global deliveries of turbine business airplanes increased 7.2 percent in this year’s first quarter over the first quarter of 2013, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. The jump in deliveries will most likely mean a boost to business at centers that perform aircraft completions and refurbishments and companies that provide interior components.

Jet Aviation Moscow has signed an agreement with Kazan-based Tulpar Interior Group to offer scheduled full interior refurbishment capabilities out of Jet Aviation’s maintenance facility at Moscow Vnukovo Airport. New services include: carpet replacement; minor repair or replacement of interior components; rejuvenation and protective coating of leather surfaces; fabrication of new seat upholstery; repair or replacement of coating or headlining on windows and other panels; and rectification of any decorative varnish defects on veneer and hardwood surfaces.

New Zealand-based Altitude Completion Centre has taken delivery of 16 executive seats from Italian interior components supplier Iacobucci for installation in a new Boeing Business Jet.

This is reinforcing the company’s activities in furniture, which already includes tables, side ledges, credenzas, closets and other interior components. In the future, Sabena Technics intends to increase the shop’s size and develop new expertise in upholstery.
