Middle East flight operations support provider Nexus has teamed with Argus International, an aviation safety management company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, to bring Argus’s services to the Middle East and North Africa. Nexus, which is a subsidiary of the MAZ Aviation Group, announced two new flight operations centers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain in December.
In its newly released annual safety management system (SMS) audit results report, Argus says its Prism subsidiary has generally found a lack of SMS training at several business aviation flight departments. This latest report is based on 65 audits Argus performed last year, from which the Prism team reviews and compiles the results.
Argus International (Booth No. 3106), the Cincinnati-based safety auditing company, announced at Heli-Expo 2011 that two of its subsidiaries recently signed agreements.
Argus International has revamped its Charter Evaluation and Qualification (Cheq) system with a new user interface to ease searching, and unlimited TripCheqs. The new system allows users to search, manage and perform due diligence all in one program. Users can now search operators by Argus ratings, aircraft operator, aircraft model and geographic location.
Argus has partnered with JetVizor to allow users of the latter company’s free online charter marketplace and global directory to view Argus ratings for charter operators when searching charter data. There are now more than 400 Argus-rated charter providers, including 314 Gold, 25 Gold Plus and 85 Platinum-rated operators.

Aviation data and services firm Argus launched a new online registry of charter operators that features the company’s charter evaluation and qualification (Cheq) rating. Cheq provides charter buyers with an independent rating based on an operator’s actual safety history. Until now, these ratings have not been available free to the public in a searchable online registry.
ARGUS IS-BAO Audits Go Platinum
Aviation Research Group/US (Booth No. 843) has completed more than 25 combination IS-BAO/ARGUS audits since developing a single-audit protocol that combines the International Business Aircraft Council’s International Standard Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) and the ARGUS Platinum Rating.
