The company provides catering from dozens of carefully vetted sources, including high-end restaurants and caterers.

Honeywell is making flying the Pilatus PC-12 NG easier with four new iPad apps optimized for the big single-engine turboprop. The apps cover maintenance and operational solutions and is to be available in Apple’s App Store in July, although the myGDC app is already available, with an updated version coming in July. DAC International has received FAA parts manufacturer approval (PMA) for its GDC64 tablet aircraft interface unit (TAIU). The unit serves two functions: to provide the correct power supply to recharge Apple iPad tablet computers; and to safely connect iPads to aircraft sensors to supply useful data to iPad applications. The GDC64 is hard-wired to the aircraft and doesn’t rely on wireless connectivity.

Arinc Direct, which provides flight-planning services online, continues to develop functionality for both its PC-based and newer iPad-based service. Company director James Hardie told AIN last month that the service offering has been enhanced, with synchronization of data between two iPads in the cockpit now possible using Bluetooth, plus real-time Cloud synchronization of data.

Ramco announced the launch of its cloud-based workspace solution yesterday at Heli-Expo ’13. Ramco Aviation on Cloud offers small and midsize operators the ability to replace their IT support infrastructure with the subscription-based program, which helps manage workorder and supply chain details, employee information and payroll data. “Helicopter companies and MROs addressing the heli-operator segment…constantly face operational hurdles,” said P.R. Two new iPad applications offered by Pilatus through Apple’s iTunes store allow the user to create a personal PC-12 NG interior design and exterior paint scheme. The apps, one for the interior and one for the exterior, may be downloaded and installed on the iPad at no charge.
The interior design app lets the user to select from one of four BMW DesignWorks USA interior themes specifically designed for the North and South American markets. In addition, customers can make individual adjustments to wood, carpet, leather, plating and other interior materials.

Satcom Direct recently launched the FlightDeck 360 iPad app, which provides pilots access to airborne datalink communications and real-time flight data. A key benefit of FlightDeck 360 is that operators can use their satcom Internet connections to gain datalink functionality, without needing or having to install a flight management system.

ARINC anticipates its Connect Communications System (CCS), designed to give current generation capabilities to aircraft equipped with legacy Satcom systems, will be popular in the Middle East. Here the business aviation fleet “is quite dominated by larger aircraft, some former airliners with existing satellite infrastructure that might be relatively old,” said James Hardie, the company’s director, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
