The American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has expressed concern about the lack of an international agreement on tackling the cybersecurity threat to commercial aviation around the world. The group gave the warning in a new white paper published on August 13 called A Framework for Aviation Cybersecurity.

Robinson Helicopter founder Frank Robinson will receive the 2013 Daniel Guggenheim Medal on May 22 at the Grand Awards Banquet of the American Helicopter Society International’s Annual Forum in Phoenix. The Medal recognizes notable achievements in aeronautics and is awarded jointly by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the American Helicopter Society (AHS) International, and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International.
HondaJet president and CEO Michimasa Fujino was presented the 2012 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Aircraft Design Award last week. The AIAA Aircraft Design Award “honors a design engineer or team for the conception, definition or development of an original concept, or career contributions leading to significant advancement in aircraft design or design technology.” According to the AIAA, Fujino is being recognized for pioneering the “unique” over-the-wing engine mount used on the in-development HondaJet.
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has designated the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center an AIAA Historic Aerospace Site for its pivotal role in creating the nation’s ATC system over the past 50 years.
