CESSNA 208, PARKS, ARIZ., NOV. 8, 2002–At approximately 10:20 a.m. (MST) a Cessna 208B (N514DB), operated by Brown County Financial Services, LLC, of Snyder, Texas, was destroyed when it crashed approximately three miles south of Parks, Ariz., about 16 nm northwest of Flagstaff. The commercial pilot, a private-pilot-rated passenger and two other passengers were killed.
“We are a people-oriented company,” proclaimed Tim Maystrik, vice president of Air Routing International (Booth No. 2236) during his speech Monday at NBAA’06. “There is no doubt that technology is important, but more of our clients want to see a body on site.”
Cessna 441, Vestavia Hills, Ala., Dec. 10, 2003–After taking off from Birmingham, Warrington Development’s Cessna 441 descended in a spin and crashed in a creek ravine. The ATP pilot and his passenger were killed, and the airplane was destroyed.
Mitsubishi MU-2B-36, Pittsfield, Mass., March 25, 2004–The NTSB determined the cause of the accident was “the pilot’s loss of aircraft control for undetermined reasons, which resulted in an inadvertent stall/spin and subsequent impact with the ground.”
Beech King Air 90, Rawlins, Wyo., Jan. 11, 2005–The NTSB said the air ambulance accident was caused by “the pilot’s inadvertent flight into adverse weather [severe icing] conditions, resulting in an aerodynamic stall.” A contributing factor was the pilot’s inadequate planning for the forecast icing.
