India’s Baron Aviation has launched a jet card program to encourage the country’s growing ranks of wealthy individuals to fly in a fleet of aircraft operated by an alliance of selected operators. The company’s fleet of eight aircraft consists of two Challenger 604s, a Global Express, a Falcon 2000, a Hawker 750 and three helicopters (an Airbus AS355N TwinStar and a Bell 412 and 407).

Global Jet’s fleet in China has grown with the addition of three more jets this year, and the company’s Asia-based fleet now numbers five aircraft. The Geneva-headquartered private jet company’s worldwide fleet of privately operated and charter aircraft has now reached 67.

Gainjet’s Boeing 737-400 features 68 executive seats, but the company is already planning further upgrades to include a bedroom and bathroom, as well as auxiliary fuel tanks and cabin connectivity and entertainment systems.

Charter operator Gainjet (Stand 2306) recently expanded its fleet with the addition of a 68-seat VIP-configured Boeing 737-400. The Greece-based group has made a specialty of operating former Boeing airliners, with two other 737s already in service (one with 48 seats and the other with 60 seats). The fleet also includes a very spacious 62-seat 757-200.

One of the key moments in the company’s growth came when it became the first supplier of OEM factory-installed electro-mechanical window shade systems for the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330/340 and A380.

This is a banner year for Gore Design Completions (Booth No. N4900), according to Mohammed Alzeer, the company’s general partner, who announced here at NBAA 2013 that Gore had received a contract to complete two Boeing 787 Dreamliners in head-of-state VVIP configuration. The aircraft will be delivered from Boeing to Gore’s San Antonio, Texas facility.

Jet Aviation Basel has signed a contract to design and complete the cabin of an A340-600 long-range widebody for an undisclosed customer. Work on the green Airbus will begin in next year’s first quarter.

While many in the business aviation industry still eye China as fertile territory, a new report from business aviation consulting firm Asian Sky Group (ASG) predicts the Greater China market will see less than half the growth it experienced last year. In its First-half 2013 Greater China Fleet Additions Report, the Hong Kong-based company says that the Chinese fleet of new and used business jets is expected to increase by approximately 18 percent this year, compared with 40-percent growth last year (albeit from a smaller base total).

Airbus Corporate Jets has restructured as a new Airbus integrated business unit, incoming ACJ president Habib Fekih told journalists hereat the Dubai Air Show on Sunday. Two ACJs are on display at the show–an Al Jaber Aviation ACJ318 and a Comlux ACJ320 (Static A49-52).
