He was just named chief financial officer of ABS Jets (Booth 2052), with operational bases in Prague and Bratislava. Dvorak has always had a keen interest in both aviation and finance, and his new job will enable him to leverage his expertise in both areas.

Embraer has appointed Jet Aviation Basel as a fully authorized service center for the Legacy 600 and 650, allowing it to provide line and base maintenance for the super midsized business jets.
“We can now provide any kind of maintenance, exterior painting and IFE upgrades, as well as warranty and AOG support, to the growing Embraer customer base in EMEA,” said Johannes Turzer, v-p and general manager of the maintenance center at Jet Aviation Basel.
Embraer Executive Jets’ Legacy 650 recently received type certification from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, paving the way for customer Premiair to put the aircraft into service. With the approval, all in-production Embraer Executive Jets are now certified in this country. When Premiair takes delivery of two Legacy 650s it has on order, the Indonesian charter operator will have eight Embraer jets in its fleet.
Embraer has named Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering (Staeco) of Ji’nan, China, its authorized service center in China. Staeco will provide line and heavy maintenance for E-Jets in accordance with China Civil Aviation Regulation Part 145 standards.
The Chinese regional aviation market will be responsible for 15 percent of worldwide deliveries of 61- to 120-seat jets in the next 20 years. Embraer forecasts a demand in China for 1,005 new jets up to 2031 in this category (455 jets in the 61- to 90-seat segment and 550 jets in the 91- to 120-seat segment).
Execaire parent company IMP Group acquired Toronto, Ontario-based Image Air Charter. Image Air, which has about 60 employees, manages a fleet of 20 business airplanes and specializes in executive travel via its air charter and aircraft management services. With the acquisition, Execaire will now serve clients with more than 290 employees and a managed fleet of 53 business jets.
Embraer has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mumbai-based Indamer to provide maintenance support for the midsize Legacy 500. The Legacy 500, which is expected to enter service in 2014, is currently in the flight-test stage following the maiden flight of the first prototype late last year.
Prague-based ABS Jets is highlighting its operation control center services this week at the Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The company provides a range of services to business aircraft operators and owners seeking to outsource flight-planning services on either a part- or full-time basis.
Cessna Aircraft has acquired Jet Aviation’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Zurich, Switzerland, and Düsseldorf, Germany. The OEM had recently renewed their designations as authorized service facilities. Both facilities went into operation as Cessna Citation Service Centers on January 1. Under the terms of the agreement, Jet Aviation will continue operating the FBO facilities at both locations.
Marshall Aerospace has entered the pre-owned aircraft sales sector and is expanding its charter activities as part of a relaunch of its business aviation division. The Cambridge, UK-based group is combining its existing Marshall Business Aviation handling and maintenance subsidiary and Marshall Executive Aviation charter operator with the new sales unit in a bid to create a one-stop bizav services brand called Jetability. This also encompasses its concierge support and limousine services.
The Russian market has continued to be a key factor in the recovery that Czech Republic-based ABS Jets has seen in the business aviation sector over the past 12 months. Russians own several of the 13 aircraft that the company has under management contracts, with their insurance companies and banks eager to have these assets in the hands of operators based in the European Union.
