Aeroflot accepted its tenth Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 on June 26 in the so-called Full version, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) announced on Monday, thereby completing the transition of the fleet from 10 SSJ100 Lights, all of which the Russian flag carrier has returned.

Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft has long claimed its Superjet 100 offers a level of technical sophistication that surpasses that of any Western regional jet on the market. Now, a new funding system state-controlled Vnesheconombank (VEB) devised with Sukhoi to support export sales of the Superjet 100 promises to place the Russian regional jet on equal footing with Western models in terms of financing cost as well, according to VEB deputy chairman Alexander Ivanov.

Two Sukhoi Superjet 100s operated by the Mexican airline Interjet performed their inaugural revenue flights on Wednesday, marking the first appearance of the Russian regional jets in commercial service in the Americas. Using SSJ100 MSN 95023, Interjet Flight 3153 took off at 7:37 a.m. local time from Mexico City (MEX) and landed at 8:54 a.m. in Torreon (TRC).

Mexican airline Interjet is set to become the first Western operator of Sukhoi’s SuperJet SSJ100 during July. The first of 20 aircraft it has on order arrived from Russia in Interjet colors at last week’s Paris Air Show, before heading to the Venice, Italy, headquarters of the airframer’s SuperJet International joint venture with Alenia Aermacchi. There it will undergo final preparations for final delivery to Mexico, with a second SSJ100 due to follow just a few days behind it.

A ceremony scheduled for this morning in Le Bourget’s static park marks delivery of the first example of a Sukhoi SSJ100 built to operate in the Western world to Mexican airline Interjet. The airplane, marketed by SuperJet International–the Venice, Italy-based Western sales and worldwide support provider for the Sukhoi SSJ100–arrived here in Interjet colors on Saturday evening. It now occupies a prominent spot on the static display line, giving show goers a preview of what passengers will experience once service starts next month.

Indonesia’s Sky Aviation took delivery of its first Sukhoi Superjet 100, Sukhoi announced on February 27. Superjet S/N95022–the first of 12 SSJ100s ordered by Sky Aviation–flew to Jakarta Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport following interior installation and painting at the Aviastar plant in Ulianovsk, Russia.

Sky has sent the airplane to its base in Makassar, South Sulawesi, from where it planned to begin flying routes to Denpasar, Bali; Balikpapan, East Kalimantan; and Sorong, Papua, on March 10.

Indonesia’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation has awarded a type certificate to Sukhoi’s Superjet 100 airliner. The approval clears the way for the Russian airframer to start deliveries of the SSJ100 to Indonesian carrier Sky Aviation, which is the new narrowbody’s first customer in Southeast Asia.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) delivered its 10th production Sukhoi Superjet 100 (S/N 95017) and the ninth to enter into service with Aeroflot, SCAC announced in late July. On completion of the technical acceptance procedure, SCAC and Aeroflot signed the Act of Delivery & Acceptance documents for the aircraft at Ulyanovsk, Russia, on July 28. Named after the famous Soviet pilot Vasily Borisov and registered with the tail number RA-89009, the airplane flew from Ulyanovsk to Aeroflot’s Moscow base on August 2 for the start of commercial operation.
