Canadian company Vector Aerospace is in the planning stages for its first maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) subsidiary and service center in Latin American. Senior executives from the company, which already has MRO facilities in 21 countries on six continents, along with its local representatives are at LABACE (Stand 3005) to discuss their services with local operators.
Flightcraft’s roots go deep into the local community. The company began serving the lumber industry in the late 1940s when Si King, Charlie Miller and a couple of lumber companies, including Weyerhaeuser, got together to support the transportation needs of the lumber industry.
Jim Nordstrom, president of Executive Aircraft Maintenance (EAM), was enjoying the retired life when several friends enticed him back to the business in 2001 as part of a three-way partnership called Copper State Turbine Engine Company (CSTEC). “I told them that I’d help set up the company but really wanted to go back into retirement as soon as it was practical; that was 12 years ago and I’m still here,” he told AIN.
Greenwich AeroGroup announced today that Atlantic Aero in Greensboro, N.C., and Western Aircraft in Boise, Idaho, have received AS9110 quality system certifications. Now all three Greenwich AeroGroup maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service centers are AS certified. The internationally recognized AS9110 standard focuses on MRO services and is an offshoot of the AS9100 standard that addresses the aviation industry. “We are extremely pleased with these achievements,” said Greenwich AeroGroup senior v-p Jeff Mihalic.
AAT Aircraft Maintenance has received a repair station certificate from Mexico’s Director General of Civil Aeronautics. AAT Aircraft Maintenance offers routine and heavy inspections, avionics support, interior refurbishment and structural repair and fabrication. Additionally, the Dallas-based company provides engine maintenance services, component repairs and overhauls, landing gear overhauls, composite repair and fabrication and related services.

Currently Eclipses are certified in 49 countries, and Eclipse Aerospace CEO Mason Holland told AIN, “We are in the third quarter for the Eclipse 550 so we’re focused on support.”

ExecuJet Aviation Group’s ExecuJet Africa is expanding its Cape Town International Airport facility’s support capability to include the Bombardier Dash 8/Q300. The MRO currently has one Dash 8/Q300 undergoing C-check base maintenance in its 64,500-sq-ft Cape Town hangar and is preparing for an influx of Dash 8/Q300s to undergo maintenance at the facility by the end of April.
ExecuJet had previously carried out C-check base maintenance on Dash 8s at its Lanseria International Airport facility.
Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero’s (Booth P716) large transport category VIP completions center, based in Dallas, Texas, has received approval as an authorized maintenance organization in China. The approval, granted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), is for a Part 145 approved maintenance organization (AMO)–covering maintenance and modifications on Chinese-registered aircraft.
