Raisbeck Engineering received FAA STC approval on Friday for its Learjet 60 aft fuselage locker. It will now be available for purchase and installation at all Raisbeck-authorized dealer locations. Final certification flights were completed in March. Development of the aft fuselage locker–which weighs 276 pounds and adds 28 cu ft of storage space–began in June 2008, with the confirmation of technical cooperation between Raisbeck and Bombardier Learjet. The program involved the addition of a fire-proof shell and a fire-detection system.
Raisbeck Engineering named Keith Anderson v-p of engineering; he will report directly to CEO and founder James Raisbeck. Anderson will be responsible for overseeing all engineering projects, certifications and FAA engineering interactions. In addition, he will maintain his role within product integration, product development and sustaining engineering. Before joining Raisbeck Engineering in 2012, Anderson was at Quest Aircraft, where he held various positions, including chief pilot, director of engineering and director of customer service.
Raisbeck Engineering (Booth No. C7326) is highlighting its new swept-blade propellers for all King Air C90-series turboprop twins here at NBAA 2013. Deliveries of the blades, which sweep on both the leading and trailing edges, will begin in January. Raisbeck has been delivering swept blades for the King Air 200 series since the beginning of this year.
Raisbeck Engineering has named Mumbai, India-based Airworks an authorized dealer and regional installation center for its King Air modifications. With this agreement, Airworks will now be able to install Raisbeck systems at its facilities in Delhi, Mumbai and Hosur. Seventy King Airs are based in India.
Raisbeck Engineering’s swept-blade “turbofan propellers” for the King Air 200 series are now approved in Brazil after the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) granted certification late last month.
A spokesperson for Raisbeck Engineering told AIN, “There are about 500 King Airs in Brazil alone, making it a major market for us. We hope that the swept-blade prop reenergizes our presence in the South American region and we’ll be focusing a lot of our attention on the market as it continues to grow.”
Raisbeck/Hartzell swept-blade “turbofan propellers” entered service this month on a King Air B200. This aircraft is also the first installation of the Epic Platinum Performance Package with the new swept-blade props.
