Landmark Aviation made its entry into the UK business aviation market in a big way with yesterday’s announcement that it acquired RSS Jet Centre, which operated the former Ocean Sky FBOs at London Luton, Manchester and Glasgow Prestwick International Airports. The Houston-based company, which now operates 57 FBOs (including eight under license) mostly in North America, has had a presence in France since 2006, and currently has bases at 10 airports in Europe. This includes a facility at Paris Le Bourget, where a new $4.1 million terminal is set to open.

Inflight Executive Jet Centre at Stansted Airport in London has appointed Steve Grimes as its new managing director. Grimes is assigned the mission of expanding business for Inflight’s FBO and its maintenance shop.
“I am looking forward to growing the business in both areas,” said Grimes, “which could mean expanding with new locations for both operations and maintenance.” Inflight also said its growth strategy includes expanding into aircraft completions and interior refurbishment.
Ocean Sky’s FBO and maintenance businesses have been acquired following the sudden liquidation of the UK-based group’s aircraft charter and management businesses. Cyprus-based RSS Enterprises announced the acquisition of Ocean Sky Jet Centre, Ocean Sky Engineering, Ocean Sky Aircraft Interiors and Ocean Sky Jet Centre (Prestwick) this week.
A September 7 creditors meeting is expected to appoint liquidators to handle the assets of the UK-based Ocean Sky group’s aircraft charter, management and brokering divisions.
