Raleigh, N.C.-based Jetcraft announced today that it acquired the aircraft brokerage activities of ExecuJet Aircraft Trading (EAT) from Zurich-based ExecuJet Aviation Group for an undisclosed sum. According to Jetcraft, this deal makes it “the world’s largest business aircraft brokerage company.”
Jet Aviation Basel refurbished its maintenance customer lounge, expanding it to more than twice its original size. The 1,700-sq-ft space features the new corporate look and feel the company introduced at its Geneva FBO earlier this year. The lounge now offers a meeting room, kitchen, business center, reception area and dedicated customer service coordinator.
Kelly Ortberg has been promoted from president of Rockwell Collins to CEO, succeeding chairman and CEO Clay Jones, who has retired after 15 years at the helm. The company announced a restructuring and rotation of leadership within its commercial systems organization.
Jet Aviation St. Louis has launched an iPad app that permits customers to design the interior and exterior of their jets. Now available to download free from iTunes on the App Store, the iDesignJets app from Jet Aviation St. Louis enables customers to choose the color, fabric, design themes and floor plans for the interiors of their jets, as well as designs and colors for the exterior.
China Eastern Airlines Executive Air (CEAEA) signed an agreement with Metrojet of Hong Kong under which the latter will provide exclusive maintenance and service support for the operation. The agreement covers training, inspection and heavy maintenance service support to CEAEA’s 13-aircraft fleet, which includes types made by Gulfstream, Embraer, Cessna, Hawker and Bombardier.
The agreement with CEAEA “is a testament to our growing stature in the Asian business aviation industry and highlights our strength in aircraft maintenance services,” said Metrojet CEO Björn Näf.
Vienna-based International Jet Management has signed a deal with Jet Aviation Basel for the MRO to provide line and base maintenance for the company’s fleet of managed and charter aircraft. Currently covered under the terms of the agreement are two Globals, one Challenger 850, two Challenger 605s, one Challenger 604, two Challenger 300s, one Learjet 40, one Citation Excel, seven Falcon 900s, one Falcon 2000 and one GV.
With its acquisition of Jet Aviation’s London Biggin Hill maintenance facility early this year, the 328 Group, which supports the worldwide fleet of Dornier 328 turboprops and jets among others, also acquired the former Jet Aviation FBO, which it is operating under its newly established Jets brand.
Grossmann Jet Service, a Prague-based aircraft management and charter group, has contracted with Jet Aviation Basel to perform the 96-month inspection on a Legacy 600. It will be the MRO’s first inspection of this magnitude on the type.
Jet Aviation and Vienna-based Art Aviation have reached an agreement whereby Jet Aviation will serve as the exclusive maintenance provider for Art Aviation’s fleet of aircraft. Founded in 2012, Art Aviation operates two Bombardier Global XRSs, two Global 6000s, a Boeing BBJ1 and a Dassault Falcon 900EX and Falcon 7X. Jet Aviation will provide scheduled base maintenance from its facilities in Basel or Geneva and line maintenance from its Moscow Vnukovo facility.
Phebe Novakovic, CEO of Gulfstream parent company General Dynamics, says that Gulfstream has remedied the production/completion “disequilibrium” (her word at the time) that slowed initial deliveries of the G650. Speaking this morning at the Deutsche Bank Global Industrials and Basic Materials Conference in Chicago, she said approximately 30 copies of the airframer’s new flagship had to undergo retrofits in the completions process to comply with FAA certification requirements.
