BBA Aviation, parent company of the Signature Flight Support FBO chain, has agreed to purchase Executive Beechcraft, which includes four FBOs, a charter/management operation, maintenance and avionics facilities and an aircraft sales division. Executive Beechcraft is a Hawker Beechcraft sales and service center for the Bonanza A36 through the Hawker 400XP and a service center for Cirrus Design and Mooney Aircraft.
First-quarter delivery numbers released last month by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) show a healthy and continued growth trend in both the jet and turboprop sectors. Overall, the manufacturers delivered 16 percent more aircraft in the first three months of this year than they did in the same period last year.
Despite heavy lobbying by general aviation groups, a promising effort to have the concept of user fees for ATC services stricken from the Senate’s version of an FAA reauthorization bill failed narrowly in mid-May by a 12-11 vote.
