Cessna Aircraft announced yesterday an order for 20 Citation Mustang very light jets from Russian charter operator Dexter and 24 Citations by Austria’s Jetalliance. Dexter is owned by two Russian private equity firms, Industrial Investors and Kaskol. Industrial Investors is the company behind AAI Acquisitions, which bought the assets of bankrupt Adam Aircraft Industries in April for $10 million dollars.

Bombardier’s Skyjet International executive aircraft charter program will be in safe hands with proposed new Swiss owner VistaJet, according to the Canadian aircraft manufacturer. Bob Horner, Bombardier’s senior v-p for sales, told EBACE Convention News that the proposed sale would provide a solid base for VistaJet and for operators of the aircraft involved.
Airbus received its largest-ever order for corporate jetliners with the placing of a $1.5 billion order for six A350 Prestige aircraft by Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-based MAZ Aviation.
After announcing the launch of the Premier II on Monday, Hawker Beechcraft yesterday revealed it has firm orders for 40 aircraft and lesser commitments for another 30 of the upgraded version of the Premier IA. Firm orders are held by nonrefundable deposits. The Premier II features more powerful 3,050-pound Williams International FJ44-3AP engines, longer range (1,500 nm versus 1,150 nm) and a faster top speed (465 knots at 33,000 feet).

It was only the opening day of EBACE and Embraer’s order book was already in a growth mode, with firm orders for a Legacy 600 and three Phenom 100s logged.
VLJ Consultancy Ltd. ordered one Phenom 100 on behalf of private investors and took options on two more, with the first delivery scheduled for 2012. The aircraft will be operated by VLJ Consultancy in a private charter and air taxi role out of Oxford Airport in the UK.
Russian aerospace conglomerate Oboronprom has begun cooperating with European rotorcraft manufacturer Agusta- Westland (Booth No. 7550) in helicopter maintenance, production and distribution–with a 10-aircraft order as a starter.

Jet Aviation (Booth No. 1147) is steadily expanding its presence in the fast-growing Middle Eastern and Asian markets. The company announced a memorandum of understanding with Airod, Malaysia’s leading aerospace MRO company, to offer FBO, line maintenance and AOG services at Kuala Lumpur’s Subang Airport, starting in August 2008.
