Maximus Air has signed an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance lease agreement with express package carrier DHL. The deal calls on Maximus to operate two newly converted Airbus A300-600RP2F freighters across Europe for DHL.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is continuing to expand the capabilities of the Boeing AH-64D Apache Block III attack helicopter with sensor upgrades, a new weapon option and greater networking capabilities. HyperMach’s planned 20-seat supersonic business jet (SSBJ)–SonicStar–will be able to fly at speeds up to Mach 4.0, the company said on Friday. This is faster than the Mach 3.6 top speed announced when the V-tailed aircraft was first revealed at June’s Paris airshow.
Having taken the initiative in UAE commercial aviation, Dubai has a higher airline and airport profile than that of capital city Abu Dhabi and the other emirates. Research group Oxford Economics (OE) predicts that the importance of Dubai’s aviation sector will grow over the next ten years.
