Landmark Aviation has launched an enhanced version of its mobile application. Connect 2 Landmark provides a convenient link to company news and the service provider’s customers can use it to find amenity descriptions, runway maps, directions, weather conditions and frequencies for all Landmark locations. While the previous version of the application allowed access to most of this information, in the new program customers can view MRO offerings, as well as browse the company’s current charter fleet and request charter quotes from their mobile devices.

Now embarking on its second year of existence, the UVair FBO network has added its 20th member. Great Circle Flight Services at Alaska’s Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is a primary fuel stop for corporate aircraft transiting between the Far East and North America. “We are pleased to align Great Circle with a dynamic partner who understands the importance of Anchorage as a global crossroads,” said Great Circle president Justin Charon. The FBO opened in 2005 and provides 24/7 service.

Charter and management operator Hangar8 expects to open a new FBO on the island of Jersey in early 2015. The UK-based group’s CEO, Dustin Dryden, told AIN that the year-long construction project is slated to begin in the offshore tax shelter by the start of next year. Dryden indicated that Hangar8 is exploring plans to expand into the FBO sector.

Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur (ACA) has purchased the majority of shares of Aéroport du Golfe de Saint-Tropez (AGST), which operates Gulf of Saint-Tropez Airport. With more than 42,500 aircraft movements last year, Cote d’Azur ranks as the second busiest business airport in France behind only Paris Le Bourget, and the new acquisition will add another 7,000 movements to that total. The French Riviera gateway features recently renovated facilities and contributes to the economic development of the region. A study last year recognized the airport’s economic impact at approximately €170 million.

The airport-owned FBO at DuPage Airport is expected to complete its extensive upgrade this month. The 20-month project at the DuPage Flight Center cost approximately $4.2 million and will substantially improve the functionality and aesthetics of the structure as well as improve its safety and convenience, according to the airport authority. Among the improvements at the 63,000-sq-ft West Chicago facility are new customer entrances, crew lounges, on-site car rental, new U.S. Customs facilities, a new meeting room and upgrades to the reception area.

Air BP has added fueling services for general and business aviation aircraft at two Spanish airports. At Palma de Mallorca’s airport, Air BP’s joint venture with Spanish fuel supplier SCLA will serve the island’s largest FBO, Mallorcair, 24 hours a day with dedicated Air BP staff and expanded refueling equipment. The company’s new installation at Don Quijote Airport near Toledo is GEN500 approved and JIG certified and is staffed by Air BP-trained employees. Both locations will accept the Air BP Jet Sterling Card.

Bristol Flying Centre (BFC), the recently expanded FBO at Bristol Airport, has received authorization from the UK Department for Transport to handle all charter flights from its new facility. Previously, the location could not handle charter aircraft of more than 22,000 pounds unless they were privately owned. The company’s management worked with airport officials to earn the authorizations to ensure the appropriate level of security for all private aircraft movements.

Fuel management software provider Fuelerlinx has spawned a sister company: FBOlinx. The new company allows FBOs to broadcast their fuel prices to their flight department customer base. Instead of posting a uniform price online and waiting for customers to contact them, FBOs using the new system can send confidential quotes directly to customers. Prices can be tailored to meet a flight department’s fuel-use profile for a more streamlined and personalized process.

StandardAero has signed an exclusive engine maintenance contract with AJ Aeroservices to support the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA) fleet of Bombardier CL-415 amphibious turboprops. The CL-415 is used in a water bombing role. StandardAero first established its partnership with AJ Aeroservices in 2011 with field service support and has been supporting Bombardier CL-415 operators worldwide for more than a decade.
