Avionics display provider Barco has entered into a partnership with Zhukovsky-based aerospace company Monitor Soft to jointly provide cockpit mission systems on the Russian market. “The Russian market has always been an important focus for us and over the past ten years we have achieved a dominant market share on civil aircraft,” said a Barco spokesman.

Vector Aerospace’s Helicopter Services Rolls-Royce 250 repair facility in Lewisville, Texas, is consolidating with the Vector Engine Services Atlantic Pratt & Whitney Canada engine repair station in Southlake, Texas, to create a combined engine repair operation. The facilities offer repair station support for the Rolls-Royce 250 and Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A, JT15D and PW100.

MTS Systems has secured a substantial order for mechanical test equipment, software and consulting from Rolls-Royce. The MTS testing solutions will be deployed at the new Rolls-Royce mechanical test operations center (MTOC) in Dahlewitz, Germany, to provide insight into the behavior of jet engine materials and components under demanding, real-world operating conditions.

Local 794 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW) in Albuquerque, N.M., is working with state and local leaders to put together an economic incentive package to avoid closure of the GE Aviation facility in the third quarter of next year.

Eclipse Aerospace, the reincarnation of defunct Eclipse Aviation, has vacated its $8 million factory service center and told Albany County Airport Authority officials not to expect it to return. Doug Myers, director of public affairs for the Authority, told AIN that five years ago the airport authority began an economic development initiative to attract new businesses and jobs to the Albany, N.Y. airport.
