Extant Components Group Holdings has entered into a licensing agreement with Universal Avionics Systems to provide support for Aero-M and Aero-I series satcom products. Extant, through its subsidiary Symetrics Industries, will provide exclusive unit repair and exchange services and related technical support.

TAG Engineering Le Bourget has joined Bombardier’s authorized service facility (ASF) network as an authorized line maintenance facility. The MRO is now able to provide line- and base-level maintenance services for the Learjet 60, Learjet 60XR, Challenger 300, Challenger 605, Global Express, Global Express XRS and Global 5000 as well as Global 5000 and Global 6000 equipped with the Bombardier Vision flight deck. It is the only Bombardier ASF at Le Bourget.

Constant Aviation has completed its seventh winglet modification on the Citation X. “This is a great solution,” Stephen Maiden, president of Constant Aviation, told AIN. “It provides increased speed at higher altitudes, improved takeoff performance, reduced time-to-climb and increased range and payload.” The modification takes about 45 days to complete and the work is done at the Cleveland facility.

Quality Aviation Instruments (QAI) and Gulf Helicopters (GHC) have entered into a joint venture for component repair facilities to be located in Doha, Qatar. The agreement covers component repairs of accessories, avionics and instruments.

Able Aerospace Services has completed the move into larger headquarters at Phoenix-Gateway Airport. The company repairs and overhauls parts for rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft and offers FAA-approved repair alternatives to buying new parts.

The European Aviation Safety Agency has certified the BLR Aerospace FastFin tail rotor enhancement and stability system for installation and flight on all Bell 412s. It was previously approved for Bell 204, 205 and 212s. The FastFin System improves useful load, wind azimuth tolerance and hover stability for Bell medium helicopters. “With FastFin installed, Bell 412 operators can realize significant increases in useful load, in some cases as much as 1,250 pounds,” said Dave Marone, v-p of sales and marketing for BLR Aerospace.

Boeing’s new iPad application, Maintenance Turn Time, provides access to manuals, part numbers and other information to resolve maintenance issues plane-side and collaborate with anyone with Internet access. Included are Toolbox Mobile Library (mx document access), hyperlinks between multiple manuals, Toolbox Mobile Parts with part availability, and Maintenance Turn Time, which gives technicians a secure connection to collaborate with colleagues when troubleshooting a maintenance issue.

The Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre has authorized Jet Aviation Hong Kong to provide maintenance services to third-party aircraft subject to the MRO’s aircraft approval type ratings. The MRO, which also services Jet Aviation Hong Kong’s 25 managed aircraft, offers line maintenance, inspections, defect rectifications and AOG support and has access to a 99,027-sq-ft hangar.

GE Aviation is launching the TruEngine LLP program to evaluate the operating history of used life-limited parts. LLPs undergo a rigorous back-to-birth records audit and engineering review to evaluate their configuration and maintenance history relative to airworthiness limitations substantiated by GE and documented in the engine manual. LLP will be qualified at the part level and at a specific time-since-new and cycles-since-new interval.

Asset Insight and Aircraft Shopper Online (ASO) have signed an agreement to provide Asset Insight’s services at a discounted rate, giving ASO’s clients access to the Asset Grading System Process and related analyses covering more than 75 aircraft, including large, medium and small jets as well as turboprops and helicopters manufactured by various OEMs.
