Lagos-based Evergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN) has received approved maintenance organization (AMO) certification from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. The MRO has the equipment in place to maintain Saft batteries and aircraft wheels across a range of aircraft including the Dornier 328 and Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global Express.
The Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC), a specialist in ACJ VIP cabin completion, has signed a deal with Russia SFD for the first customized package dedicated entirely to ACJ operators. Russia SFD operates two recently delivered ACJs.
Bombardier Aerospace’s Dubai parts depot has moved to a new facility to enhance its aftermarket support for operators flying to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Cabin completions provider Lufthansa Technik is in the final stages of preparation for the arrival of a second Boeing 747-8 for outfitting at its facilities in Hamburg, Germany.
The airplane, destined for an undisclosed client, is expected to arrive before the end of the month. The first 747-8 is already in the cabin completion process following its arrival in August. Arrival of the second will bring to three the total number of twin-aisle bizliner projects being completed simultaneously.
Sierra Industries has added a new maintenance facility at San Antonio International Airport. The site might fill the void left by the closure of a Hawker Beechcraft factory service center. West Star Aviation is offering the enhanced flight vision system known as HUD Vision Access (HVA) for the Challenger 604 and 605. Certification is expected next month. It consists of three LRUs and provides safer operation in low visibility, enhanced situational awareness, terrain avoidance and runway incursion detection, according to the company. The most prominent benefit is lower landing credits to minimums of 100 feet above the ground.
Jet Aviation St. Louis is on track to deliver its 200th green completion before the end of the month. According to Chuck Krugh, senior vice president and general manager, continuous improvement initiatives have increased the efficiency of the completions process and resulted in improved delivery times. The MRO has delivered 97 aircraft since 2008, with the 16 most recent aircraft delivered ahead of schedule. “From improved data management to shop-floor layout, we have looked at every variable involved in the process and worked to make it better,” Krugh said.

The FAA has issued a supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking revising an earlier proposed airworthiness directive for Cessna 525 Citations equipped with certain part number air conditioning compressor motors. The NPRM proposed to require inspection of the number of hours on the A/C compressor hour meter, inspection of the logbook and replacement of the brushes on specified compressor motors or deactivation of the A/C system until replacement of the brushes.
