Three transportation organizations have announced the formation of a large aviation labor alliance to combine and coordinate lobbying efforts on airline safety and security. The American Aviation Labor Alliance (AALA) is a formal partnership of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), the Coalition of Airline Pilots Association (CAPA) and International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) has prevailed in a three-year legal battle against CASA, the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority. ALAEA sued to gain access to safety-related audit reports of CASA-approved foreign maintenance bases.

Jet Aviation Basel recently signed agreements with undisclosed clients for the executive completions of two A319 ACJs and a BBJ3. Jet Aviation says its in-house interior studio will design the cabin interiors of two of the three aircraft. Layouts for all three aircraft include living and dining areas and private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

The Hawker Beechcraft Services facility in Little Rock, Ark., has been awarded Beechcraft King Air 90-, 200- and 300-series repair station ratings.
