This year’s NBAA Maintenance Management Conference is set for April 30 through May 2 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas. MMC2013 is the industry’s dedicated venue for people responsible for managing maintenance in the flight department.

BizJet International, Lufthansa Technik’s Tulsa, Okla.-based subsidiary, will be supporting the Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8C used on the Gulfstream G450. BizJet is already an authorized overhaul facility for the Rolls-Royce Spey 511-8, which powers the GII and GIII; and the Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8, which powers the GIV/IV-SP.

Jet Aviation Hong Kong has received approval from the FAA to provide line and base maintenance for the Gulfstream G650. The approval allows the MRO to provide maintenance, alterations and repair services. The Hong Kong maintenance facility also supports the G400/450/500/550.

Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS), the aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft, now has parts warehouse in Brazil to support commercial operators of the S-76 and S-92 in that country. Powerpack, Sikorsky’s long-standing Brazilian representative, will manage inventory operations through the country’s special customs system known as Depósito Especial.

Atlanta-based Precision Aviation Group (PAG) announced its Long Beach, Calif.-based Aero Technology (ATI) has changed its name to Precision Aero Technology (PAT) in an effort to identify the business as a member of the Precision Aviation Group.

Cutter Aviation in Phoenix and Flying Colours in Peterborough, Ontario, have been named Beechcraft authorized service centers for the King Air, Baron and Bonanza. A spokeswoman for Beechcraft told AIN, “While there are several factors considered, the primary considerations for selecting new [authorized service center] locations are customer service needs and the aircraft fleet size in a region.” Beechcraft has more than 40 authorized service centers in North America, according to the spokeswoman.

328 Design received EASA STC approval for conversion of a Bombardier CRJ200 in regional airline configuration to a 10-seat executive layout. In collaboration with Ruag Aircraft Services, 328 Design fitted the aircraft with the latest CMS/IFE technology based on Emteq’s eConnect and eQuation Cabin Power, which allows passengers to use their own personal devices to connect and control the cabin systems, LED cabin lighting, window shades and entertainment, and provides 220VAC for power to recharge and work with personal electronic devices in flight.

Duncan Aviation, in partnership with Rockwell Collins, completed the first installation of a Rockwell Collins Ascend IMS-3500 information management server on the Citation XLS+ under Rockwell Collins’s approved model list STC. Duncan Aviation avionics team members installed the aircraft information manager system, which allows for secure, remote and wireless data transfer capabilities to Pro Line 4- and Pro Line 21-equipped aircraft, in a Citation XLS+ at the company’s facility in Battle Creek, Mich.

Nordam announced that Phil Marshall joined the company as vice president and general manager for the interiors and structures division. Marshall’s most recent positions include vice president of production operations for United Launch Alliance, and general manager for Boeing facilities in Decatur, Ala. and Pueblo, Colo. His previous positions have included responsibility for industrial engineering, manufacture, assembly, testing and product support of space-launch vehicle components and commercial aircraft parts.

The FAA is superseding an existing airworthiness directive for the Bell 212 and adopting requirements for Bell 204B, 205A, 205A-1, 205B and 210 helicopters with certain part-numbered main rotor hub inboard strap fittings. The AD requires magnetic particle inspection of the fittings for a crack, and if a crack exists, replacing the fittings with airworthy fittings.
