Deliveries of the HondaJet will be delayed until at least mid-2013, because of a late-stage redesign of the aircraft’s GE/Honda HF120 engine. The engine fan has undergone a redesign following the failure of an on-ground ice ingestion test, Honda Aircraft president Michimasa Fujino revealed today at the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas.

The 24th annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit–which took place October 1 at the Panorama Flight Service hangar at Westchester County Airport in New York–raised $1.4 million for the organization’s worldwide relief efforts. China’s Minsheng Financial Leasing signed a firm order for 13 Embraer Legacy 650s today at the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas. The first aircraft is expected to be delivered by the end of this year, with the remainder to be delivered within the next five years. In July, the two parties signed an MoU for the purchase of up to 20 aircraft, from entry level to ultra-large executive jets.

Charter operator XOJet today announced a firm order for seven Hawker 800XPRs, with delivery of all scheduled before the end of the year. With an order option for an additional five aircraft, the value of the deal “represents a potential commitment of up to $50 million,” according to Hawker Beechcraft v-p Christi Tannahill.

Business aviation analyst Brian Foley believes that deliveries will trend modestly upward, though he cautioned that this “projection assumes that the economy and buyer confidence in general will gradually strengthen. Both are necessary catalysts for sales.
