The Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture at Oshkosh, Wis., next month will be the site for the first public viewing of the HondaJet, an experimental very light jet which has quietly been under development for several years at a Honda research facility at Piedmont Triad Airport in Greensboro, N.C. The jet, powered by two GE Honda HF118 turbofans, made its first flight in December 2003.

Fractional provider CitationShares yesterday announced three new programs for its customers–Preferred Positioning, Caribbean Express and Vector Value Plus. The Preferred Positioning program allows customers to book and purchase–at a steep discount–positioning (deadhead) flights on CitationShares aircraft. Through the program, CitationShares customers will receive a daily e-mail at around 6:30 p.m.
A provision in the legislation to reauthorize the nation’s surface transportation programs, known as the Highway Bill, would “drastically alter the way the taxes on jet fuel are collected,” according to the National Air Transportation Association. Under the proposal, jet fuel would be taxed at the same 24.4-cent-per-gallon rate as diesel fuel.
