The FAA, along with Dallas-area airports and FBOs, have also invested countless hours and millions of dollars getting runways and facilities ready for the more than 4,000 fans expected to arrive by private aircraft.

Jupiter, Fla.-based business jet broker The Private Jet Company (TPJC) believes that the “confluence of factors creating the current buyer’s market” will not last beyond 12 months. While the firm clearly has a vested interest in encouraging the purchase of pre-owned business jets, it cited third-party data sources to support its claim.
Cessna Aircraft and Bell Helicopter emerged from 2010 with healthy fourth-quarter revenues and aircraft delivery increases, according to the fourth-quarter earnings report released yesterday by parent company Textron. “An improving commercial outlook, combined with accelerating investments in new-product development, should support top-line growth across our manufacturing businesses,” said Textron chairman and CEO Scott Donnelly.
General Dynamics, the parent company of Gulfstream and Jet Aviation, yesterday reported revenue of $32.47 billion and pre-tax earnings of $2.63 billion last year, up from $31.981 billion and $2.41 billion, respectively, in 2009. The company’s aerospace segment accounted for $5.3 billion in revenue and $860 million in profits last year, the latter up 21 percent over 2009.
Dassault Aviation recently conducted a “successful” flight test to evaluate laminar wings for large business jets. The flight was performed at the company’s flight-test center in Istres, France, using a Falcon 7X equipped with an infrared camera to measure differences in surface temperatures between laminar and turbulent areas of the horizontal tailplane.
