Jeppesen added fatigue risk management (FRM) functionality to its Crew Management System suite, furthering its work to prevent and mitigate fatigue risk in crew planning and operation. According to the company, the FRM solution takes into consideration crewmembers’ predicted levels of fatigue when generating and maintaining crew schedules.

Colt International is now offering a “turnkey solution” for flight departments that must comply with the European Union emissions trading scheme (EU-ETS). The aviation fuel, flight support and insurance provider said its new Emission Reporting Program will ensure that operators comply with the March 31 deadline to submit verified 2010 emissions data.

“Will the overhang finally abate enough in 2011 to drive new [business jet] orders?” JP Morgan North American Equity Research aerospace analyst Joseph Nadol III asked in his firm’s latest monthly business jet report, released on Tuesday. Citing a “significant overhang” of pre-owned jets available at attractive prices, the report said business jet demand remains “anemic” while new aircraft backlogs continue to decline.

Chicago-based charter/management provider N-Jet has started using Apple iPads for in-flight display of approach plates. Avionics & Systems Integration Group (ASIG) of Little Rock, Ark., helped N-Jet meet guidance in FAA Advisory Circular 120-76A and Order 8900.1, Volume 4, Chapter 15 and create an iPad test plan that includes depressurization and electromagnetic interference testing. ASIG’s rapid depressurization tests cost $200 per iPad.

Gulfstream G650 flight-test aircraft S/N 6001 recently flew for the first time using only an electrically powered, fly-by-wire (FBW) backup flight-control actuation system, the Savannah, Ga.-based aircraft manufacturer announced yesterday.
