Lufthansa has decided to close its Swiss Private Aviation (SPA) subsidiary and is set to seal a new deal with NetJets Europe to provide charter flights for its Lufthansa Private Jets service.

Hawker Beechcraft this morning reported net sales of $2.804 billion for the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 2010, a decrease of $393.8 million compared with 2009.
The FAA is forecasting a recovery for general aviation, with business jets and light sport aircraft leading the way. After growing rapidly for most of the past decade, the demand for business jets has slowed over the past few years.
Garmin reports that LightSquared’s proposed nationwide broadband Internet service could seriously interfere with GPS signals. As a result of this and other filed objections, the FCC is withholding LightSquared’s operational approval until a three-month independent expert analysis agrees that this will not occur.
ExecuJet Aviation has expanded its European service network with the opening of its fourth FBO in the continent. The Switzerland-based group recently acquired the Assistair FBO in Valencia, Spain, and will run the facility with the existing staff. Assistair has been in business for 22 years and has FBOs in Palma on the Spanish island of Mallorca and at Barcelona on the mainland.
“The FAA has temporarily suspended its policy of expunging certain records of legal enforcement actions against individuals to ensure compliance with recent amendments to the Pilot Records Improvement Act [PRIA],” the agency said late last week in a policy statement.
