Two new Sikorsky civil helicopter programs–the S-76D and S-434–achieved significant milestones this week. The first S-76D production airframe, S/N 761004, was joined and entered the assembly line at Aero Vodochody in the Czech Republic. The completed airframe will be shipped to Sikorsky’s Coatesville, Pa. facility for final assembly in April.

Hawker Beechcraft chairman and CEO Bill Boisture said yesterday during a fourth-quarter update conference call that he was “surprised” at the “timing and magnitude” of the order cancellations from fractional provider NetJets. On Monday, the Wichita-based manufacturer said that NetJets had canceled $2.6 billion worth of orders.
November business aircraft flight activity indicates a “continued trend toward recovery,” according to TraqPak data from aviation specialized services firm Aviation Research Group/U.S. (ARG/US). The data indicates that business aircraft activity last month was up 22.7 percent year-over-year and 3.15 percent above October activity.
