Etirc Aviation chairman and former Eclipse Aviation chairman Roel Pieper will have to produce records of properties that he owns, according to an order issued by the New York State Supreme Court. The order is the result of a subpoena for those documents from the Alfred E. Mann Living Trust.
The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) late last week released its first accident and incident review of the Part 135 on-demand air charter industry. According to ACSF, the new safety report takes a comprehensive look at the factors surrounding charter incidents and accidents between 2004 and last year.
The Comlux Group, which became a 40-percent shareholder in the Airbus Corporate Jet Center (ACJC) in May last year, has withdrawn from the partnership by mutual agreement to focus on its new completion and maintenance facilities in Indianapolis.
In a financial update released yesterday, Hawker Beechcraft revealed that fractional provider NetJets has cancelled orders for a “significant number” of aircraft from the Wichita-based manufacturer. The aircraft were previously scheduled to be delivered in 2011. The NetJets cancellations will reduce the airframer’s current backlog by about $2.6 billion.
At 10:27 a.m. PST, Boeing 787 chief pilot Mike Carriker and test pilot Randy Neville took Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner on its maiden flight. The 787’s Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines powered up as two Lockheed T-33 chase planes dipped down to match the 787’s acceleration.
