Middle East-based carrier Qatar Airways plans to show its new executive shuttle-configured Airbus A319 Corporate Jetliner at the Dubai 2001 airshow in the United Arab Emirates next month. The airplane is expected to take part in the flying show on opening day, November 4, and remain on the static display line for the remainder of the four-day event. It is the first A319CJ to be delivered and features such cabin amenities as satcom and computer access points at each seat. The interior can also be quickly converted to a medevac configuration. At last count, Dubai 2001 had 38 aircraft listed as participants in this year’s show, and according to a spokesman, nine national pavilions had been confirmed and 95 percent of the interior exhibit space was sold to participants from 25 countries. It was unclear, however, what impact last month’s terrorist attacks would have on airshow involvement by U.S. exhibitors. At press time, show organizers said the event would still take place.
