Satcom, Surveillance, and Survival: Cobham Displays Range of Products at Heli-Expo
From satellite communications equipment, to surveillance cameras, to life-support equipment, electronics systems and safety equipment, Cobham is displaying a wide-range of products at Heli-Expo ’13.
“We do really well with special-mission operators such as air medical, law enforcement or oil exploration,” Rob Creighton, marketing manager for Cobham Aerospace Communications, told AIN. “Anyone who has a determined task to perform.”
Displays at Cobham’s booth (No. N4831) include examples of multi-frequency and direction-finding antennas used for search-and-rescue operations, as well as satcom antennas for Inmarsat SwiftBroadband satcom. The company’s Flexcomm airborne tactical communications radios and FliteLine navcom radios are also available for demonstration, along with airborne downlink equipment for COFDM video transmitters.
Examples of Cobham’s mobile aircrew restraint systems and the mobile aircrew vest interface show how this equipment restrains personnel to the helicopter, providing improved aircrew safety and survivability. The company also offers emergency egress lighting systems, as well as automatic quick underwater activated release survivability gear.
Enhanced situational awareness and flight safety equipment, including 3-D synthetic vision electronic flight information systems and the company’s HeliSAS stability augmentation system and autopilot, are displayed at the Cobham Commercial Systems booth (No. C715) at Heli-Expo ’13.
