SkyTrac Systems yesterday announced receipt of an order for 100 shipsets (plus options) of its satellite-based SkyWeb automatic flight-following and communication equipment from Canadian Helicopters.

Don Wall, Canadian Helicopters senior executive v-p, said, “Given our geographically diverse bases, remote access to data is a must. SkyWeb is part of that solution.” With 132 aircraft operating from 43 bases across Canada, Canadian Helicopters serves a range of sectors from EMS to utilities, oil and gas, forestry, mining and construction operators.

SkyTrac, headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, uses the Iridium worldwide satellite constellation to provide real-time data and voice services along with customized hardware and software integration. The company also announced here yesterday that it has named European search-and-rescue organization DRF a SkyTrac dealer.
