Pilot Report: Eurocopter EC175
Eurocopter launched its EC175 medium-class helicopter four years ago at Heli-Expo 2008 in Houston, Texas, where it showed a fuselage mockup of the new model.
The first EC175 prototype (PT1) flew for the first time on Dec. 4, 2009. It was joined by the second prototype when it made its first flight on Dec. 10, 2010. In January of this year, the time of the demonstration flight, the two aircraft had accumulated about 270 flight hours.
AIN Editor-in-Chief Randy Padfield traveled to Eurocopter’s main facility on Marseille-Provence Airport in France for the demo flight. His full pilot report of this flight is posted here on AINonline. This gallery shows additional photographs from the flight.
