Jet Aviation appointed Hardy Bütschi as vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation’s facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, effective in January. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s maintenance and FBO operations at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central/Al Maktoum International Airport, as well as at Al Bateen Executive Airport in nearby Abu Dhabi. Previously, Bütschi oversaw the company’s operations in Saudi Arabia as vice president of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia.

The company is offering a lounge, ground support, fueling, handling and security services. Other amenities include hotel accommodation, catering and limousine services, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Customs and immigration services are also available at the FBO.

Jetex Flight Support (Chalet A29, A30) opened its full-service FBO for business aircraft here at Dubai World Central/Al Maktoum International Airport last week in a temporary facility. The company is offering a VIP lounge, ground support, fueling, handling and security services. ExecuJet Middle East (Stand 2406), which opened an FBO in partnership with NasJet in Riyadh two months ago, is claiming it has brought a level of service that was previously lacking in the capital of Saudi Arabia.

“We provide no additional service but it is a question of being responsive and timely and ensuring the customer experience is efficient,” ExecuJet Middle East managing director Mike Berry told AIN. Passengers are a diverse mix, ranging from companies to wealthy individuals and companies, he said. Pilots benefit from their own private lounge.

Jet Aviation has expanded operations at Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport, underlining its FBO presence at the new airport, which opened less than a year ago. It also highlights the growing trend for business jet migration from Dubai International to DWC, which started around the time of the Middle East Business Aviation event in December 2012.

DC Aviation-Al Futtaim (DCAF), a joint venture between Germany’s DC Aviation and the Dubai-based Al-Futtaim group, recently opened the first FBO at Dubai World Central Aviation City. The venture will capitalize on Al-Fattaim’s Middle East presence and DC Aviation’s reputation as a private aviation services provider.

Signature Flight Support renewed a multi-year contract with Clear Channel Airports to provide multimedia advertising in the FBO chain’s 62 facilities in the U.S. Business travelers using these FBOs account for a significant percentage of organizational decision-makers, ranging from mid-level career professionals to senior executives, Clear Channel noted. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Clear Channel Airports as it continually innovates its medium to better engage, inform and educate our travelers,” said Signature president and CEO Maria Sastre.

Landmark Aviation announced yesterday that it has doubled down on its property holdings at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., with the acquisition of independent FBO Panorama Flight Support. With its latest addition, Landmark acquired a 20,000-sq-ft hangar, for a total of approximately 96,000 sq ft of heated community hangar space on nearly 26 acres of property.

DhabiJet–the FBO at Al Bateen Executive Airport, the only dedicated business aviation airport in the Middle East–has begun offering fueling services to all visiting aircraft at the Abu Dhabi, UAE airfield. It also plans to offer discounted fuel to attract technical stopovers and to encourage more airlines and private jets to use Al Bateen Executive Airport as their hub in the Middle East.

FltPlan is now offering up-to-date fuel price information for more than 3,300 FBOs on its website and mobile apps. The fuel price listing is designed to offer pilots a single source to ascertain fuel prices. The fuel prices appear on FltPlan’s “airport/FBO” or the “area fuel prices” pages. Pilots can also view pricing on the free FltPlan iPad and Android apps online or offline.
