November 16, 2006, 10:22 AM

Mark Ronald, president and CEO of BAE Systems Inc. and chief operating officer for BAE Systems plc, will be presented with the John Curtis Sword at the Farnborough International reception in London this evening.

The ceremonial sword was struck in 1978 in memory of John Curtis, a manager with Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine in the UK. After his untimely death in 1978, Curtis’ colleagues in the British aerospace industry offered the sword to the publication as a memorial. It is presented biennially to an individual who has made a significant contribution to Anglo-American aerospace.
