AgustaWestland has recently opened its new “A. Marchetti” Training Academy in Sesto Calende, Italy, to provide customers with a range of commercial and military helicopter training services, particularly for the A119, A109, Grand and AW139 helicopters. The company said its academy uses “the latest training technologies to improve safety, enhance pilot capabilities and to reduce cost of ownership.”

Located within the Training Academy is Rotorsim, a joint-venture between AgustaWestland and CAE, which now operates a CAE-built, level-D-qualified A109 simulator. Aircrew, maintenance technicians and ground crew can get initial conversion training at AgustaWestland’s new academy, its customer training center in Yeovil, UK, or a customer’s choice of location.

The company has tailored the training programs to meet individual needs and operational requirements using established analytical processes.
