More networking, site services to strengthen F’boro airshow
The organizers of the biennial Farnborough International Air Show announced several improvements for the next edition, scheduled to take place July 19 to 25, 2010. The setup of the show is being re-evaluated with emphasis on enhancing and increasing networking opportunities, as well as improving site services in line with feedback from exhibitors, particularly in the business aviation sector. The aim is to develop both the organization of the show and the site itself.
An enhanced conference and seminar program is part of the planned improvements, in addition to a “Meet Your Buyer” event designed to strengthen networking opportunities across the show. The daily flying display will leave more time slots for customer demonstration flights, and the static aircraft display will be arranged for aircraft to be showcased at optimum levels.
“Obviously we appreciate that many of our clients could be feeling the effects of the current global recession and therefore we make it our aim for 2010’s show to work even harder to provide participants with the very best opportunities to do business,” said Farnborough International chief executive Shaun Ormrod.
A record $88.7 billion of orders were announced during the five trade days of the 2008 show, more than double the total of the previous year’s $42 billion, and the organizers hope for another strong result in 2010. The British airshow is organized by Farnborough International (Booth No. 481).
