BBA Aviation ERO (engine repair and overhaul) is expanding its global reach. The parent company of Dallas Airmotive, H+S Aviation and Premier Turbines has extended its international service support network with the opening of regional centers in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Mumbai, India. The centers will provide service to include troubleshooting, parts support, borescope inspection and on-wing hot section inspection and repair.

“Extending our service center reach is the next phase in a structured growth plan to expand our local presence in emerging global markets,” said BBA Aviation ERO vice president of international sales Willy Harmon.

The group has also opened a new sales and service regional headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to support military, commercial, business and general aviation aircraft in Brazil and the adjacent regions with technical assistance, import/export management, logistics, field service and line-replaceable unit stocking.

The facility is located near the Pampulha Airport, serving the city of Belo Horizonte. Initial efforts will be aimed at military and commercial aircraft, “with a vision to grow our services to meet the demands of the Latin American market,” said engine repair and overhaul president Hugh McElroy.

Closer to home, BBA Aviation ERO (Booth No. 7040) continues to expand its Pratt & Whitney Canada PW305 capabilities at the company’s Dallas Airmotive regional turbine center at Dallas Love Field.

The latest addition is tools and equipment to perform integrally bladed rotor replacement on the PW305A used on the Learjet 60. The first two engines to receive the replacement work were completed in April.

In the meantime, BBA’s H+S Aviation division has received test-cell approval and completed all technician training for the repair and overhaul of the Hamilton Sundstrand T40-1 auxiliary power unit (APU). H+S Aviation was appointed an authorized repair facility by Hamilton Sundstrand in January this year.

The addition of the T40-1 APU augments H+S Aviation’s existing GE T700 authorization, allowing the company to offer a complete package of engine repair and overhaul services to operators of Blackhawk and Seahawk helicopters.

BBA has also recently signed a five-year engine maintenance agreement with fractional ownership provider Avantair for PT6A-66 repair, hot-section inspection, overhaul and field service on the operator’s fleet of more than 50 Piaggio Avanti twin turboprop aircraft. The maintenance work will be provided by BBA’s Dallas Airmotive division out of its Charlotte, North Carolina, and Dallas regional centers.
