P&WC opens customer center at home and signs MRO deals here
Pratt & Whitney Canada (Booth No. 1040) announced several maintenance and support deals at EBACE along with the launch of a customer support center at its Quebec, Canada headquarters.
The new Customer First Centre is aimed at delivering “an integrated and rapid response service to our customers worldwide,” said P&WC, bringing together technical support, logistics, service engineering, engine maintenance programs and warranty.
The company has also opened a new parts distribution center in Singapore, the second in a planned series of regional centers providing 24/7 support. The center opens in the summer and follows the opening last November of a parts distribution center in Amsterdam.
Two five-year fleet management programs have been signed. P&WC will maintain rotary- and fixed-wing engines for Denver, Colorado-based Air Methods, extending the existing contract covering around 100 engines.
“We expect this to grow to 200 as Air Methods expands its fleet of emergency medical aircraft,” said P&WC vice president of service centers Raffaele Virgili.
The second deal is with UK air ambulance company AirMed, to maintain PT6A engines for its rapidly growing fleet of ambulance, passenger and cargo aircraft serving Europe, Scandinavia and North Africa.
In the very light jet (VLJ) sector, P&WC has appointed Maryville, Tennessee-based Standard Aero (Alliance) as the first independent designated overhaul facility for its PW615F and PW610F engines, to become operational by the end of June. The PW615F powers the Cessna Mustang VLJ and the PW610F powers the Eclipse 500.
