Boeing Launches BBJ Max 9 With First Order
A year after adding the BBJ Max to its product line, Boeing has notched the first sale of the 9 variant.

Boeing Business Jets announced the sale of the first BBJ Max 9—to an undisclosed European customer—on Wednesday at the Paris Air Show. The announcement comes a year after Boeing launched the BBJ Max as the newest edition to its bizliner product line. Its first order, received in April last year, was for a BBJ Max 8.

“We are thrilled to announce that the BBJ Max 9 program is officially launched with our first BBJ Max 9 order,” said Boeing Business Jets president David Longridge. The BBJ Maxoffers "lower fuel use, increased range capability, updated flight deck, lower noise and reduced emissions…to better meet the diverse needs of our VIP customers,” he added.

Wednesday’s BBJ Max 9 sale marks the fifth BBJ Max order. All previous orders are for the BBJ Max 8, the first of which will be delivered in 2018.
