First SkyView for BBJ
Fokker, GKN and Boeing will now see first installation of novel SkyView elongated window for BBJ.

Fokker Services is to install a set of SkyView ultra-large windows on a Boeing Business Jet. The windows have been developed to offer passengers an unrivaled view of the outside world. Measuring 1.5 meters (4 feet 11 inches) wide and 0.5 meters (1 foot 7 inches) deep, each window takes up the space of three standard cabin windows, and up to four windows can be installed in a BBJ.

“This innovation re-confirms Fokker Services’ position as a creative design and completion organization offering a new way to experience VIP air travel,” remarked the company’s president, Peter Somers. “We are proud to achieve this together with GKN Aerospace and Boeing Business Jets.”

SkyView has been developed by Fokker Services (Booth F103) as a supplemental type certificate for the BBJ. GKN Aerospace supplies the windows, and uses the company’s Crystal Vue II coating on an advanced acrylic demisting transparent platform. GKN is making the first set of windows at its Luton plant, and is scheduled to deliver them in December. Conversion of the aircraft by Fokker Services and certification is due in the first quarter of 2016.
