Cordner Aviation Group, a newly launched Berlin-based firm, has, along with four alliance partners, launched a service for the conversion of BAE 146 and Avro RJ regional jets to turnkey executive use.

Cordner will locate the aircraft and manage the individual conversion projects. Design Q of London will create the cabin concept. Inflite Engineering, based at London Stansted Airport, will handle the cabin outfitting and modifications. Aircraft charter and management company Cello Aviation at Birmingham Airport, 100 miles northwest of London, will, if needed, provide management services.

The four-engine jets, converted for private or corporate use, will be branded as Multijet. The BAe 146 and its sister the Avro RJ are available at a cost of $2 to $5 million. The modifications and interior will add another $3 million or so to that price. The result is a roomy aircraft with steep approach capability and range of 1,800 nm with the addition of an auxiliary fuel system.
