S/D Attendees ‘Pay It Forward’
As part of NBAA’s growing tradition of community outreach, the Schedulers & Dispatchers advisory council partnered with the Savannah charity Assisting Working Women In Need (AWWIN) for a business-attire clothing drive. AWWIN supports working women by offering them professional clothing and job training as they prepare for careers or to re-enter the work force. Show planners dubbed the clothing drive “Pay It Forward” and requested that members of the S&D committee and others donate a professionally cleaned business outfit before the start of the show’s opening session on Wednesday.
“Many of us in business aviation have been blessed over the years and we welcome the opportunity to give a helping hand to others,” said Dolores Johnson, Everest Fuel Management’s director of Midwest regional sales, and a member of the S&D advisory council. The drive gathered nearly 70 business suits as well as cash donations for AWWIN. With the success of this inaugural event, organizers say there is already interest building in expanding these efforts for future conferences in other cities.
