Arizona Airport of the Year: Mesa-Falcon Field

The Arizona DOT named Phoenix Mesa-Falcon Field Airport “Arizona Airport of the Year” at the 2010 Arizona Airports Association Spring Conference. The airport was selected for implementing multiple safety and pavement preservation projects; being financially self-sustaining; creating a task force to suggest reasonable compromises and solutions to citizens’ concerns about aircraft noise and safety; developing social media campaigns; holding several special events; starting an aviation education program with the Mesa School District; and developing a Falcon mascot to promote children’s interest in the airport and aviati
