Final Flight: Amb. Edward Stimpson

Ed Stimpson, 75, the first and long-time head of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), died on November 25 at his home in Boise, Idaho. Following a career at the FAA, Stimpson led GAMA for a quarter century and was one of the driving forces behind the General Aviation Revitalization Act of 1994. He was then nominated by President Clinton to be the nation’s ambassador to ICAO, and later served as chairman of the Flight Safety Foundation.
