FAA Runway Safety Summit planned for next month

The FAA and co-sponsors Mitre and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) are holding the first International Runway Safety Summit December 1 to 3 in Washington, D.C. All aviation safety professionals are invited, including pilots, controllers, researchers, aviation executives and government and labor officials. The purpose of the meeting is to “discuss, review and assess hundreds of runway safety initiatives,” according to the AAAE, with the objective of “the substantial reduction and eventual elimination of runway incursions and excursions worldwide.” For more information, contact Jacky Sher Raker at (703) 824-0504 or send an e-mail to: faaintlrunwaysafetysummit@aaae.org.
