EC 135 To Service Wind Farm

UK-based Bond Air Services has ordered a Eurocopter EC 135 that will be used for maintenance missions at the Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm. Starting late this year, the light twin will perform operations such as delivery of personnel and equipment by winch. The Greater Gabbard wind farm, located about 17 nm off the East Anglia Coast, is projected to become the largest in the world by the end of next year–with 140 wind turbines generating approximately 500 megawatts.
