FAA Signs Agreement To Accelerate ADS-B

The FAA last month signed a $9 million agreement with Honeywell and Aviation Communications & Surveillance Systems (ACSS) to accelerate the testing and installation of ADS-B technology in airliners. Honeywell will handle concept development through flight evaluation and demonstration, while ACSS will develop standards, flight demonstrations and ADS-B-equipped Class 2 electronic flight bag prototypes for testing on 20 US Airways Airbus A330s.
