Air Wisconsin unsure of UAL request for 70-seat bid

Air Wisconsin, a UAL United Express partner, has expressed some confusion with regard to a request by United Airlines to its partners that they submit bids for 70-seat regional jet service within the United Express system. In a question-and-answer session at the annual Regional Airline Association (RAA) Convention on May 20, Air Wisconsin CEO Geoff Crowley said United had asked its partners to bid, but he asked rhetorically, “But how can you when you don’t know the financing and the number of aircraft?” Instead, Air Wisconsin based its bid for next year on the 20 CRJ200s for which it holds a conditional order.
